Alarm Gun Cottage is a modern two-bedroomed bungalow, built upon the foundations of the original Alarm Gun crew cottage, on the main road through Alarm Gun Forest, 4 miles from Jamestown, on the way to Longwood and the St. Helena Airport. There are good views across to High Knoll Fort, Ladder Hill and the Jamestown harbour.
Half of the cottage from front to back is open plan livingroom, dining room and kitchen. The other half is comprised of a large en-suite master bedroom with double bed, plus a bathroom and a second bedroom. It has been very well-received by an unbroken line-up of tenants from completion in 2013 until the covid pandemic had eventually reduced the flow of visitors to St. Helena in 2020.
It is fully equipped with towels, bed linen, steam iron, ironing board, automatic washer, rotary air dryer, fridge/freezer, freezer, electric cooker, kettle, toaster, microwave, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, radio and telephone. The cottage is supplied with solar-heated water and there is an instant electric shower over the bath.
